So l know what it is to say Legacy vs MPC Live/X. Ther other functions it does l didn't know about until l got it. 6 outs, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 2 sets of midi, 2Gigs Ram, 10 Gigs of sounds, optional addition of a SSD 2.5 hard drive, SD card slot, phono connection, etc.

I made up my mind and all the thoughts of getting the 2000XL was OVER! When l saw those spec and what that live could do lt was game changing for me. I saw the specs didn't know if the nrw machines were finished. Something told me you need to be patient. I was about to get a used 2000XL last year until Pett圜ash told me l might wanna wait on that.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they get that feature in a future update but for finger drumming, 16 pads and layered samples is crazy good. I think I can do this on my Deluge, but would take a workaround by using separate tracks assigned the same midi channel. Had a kit for Drum n Bass with perfect layering where just about anything you could finger drum would sound crazy good. Huge help for finger drumming if layering hats with each snare and bass drum and other percussion hits. Layering samples and fx on pads and either playing them simultaneously or round robin.

This is where MPC’s shine as does the Roland MV series too. On each sound/pad you can layer 4 effects simultaneously! Using the QLinks to edit them is a breeze. If they put in standalone Delay where you can dail in the tempo its over! You get the Air Effects Collection FREE! You can only use those when connected to the computer. The effects for the 2000XL ARE GARBAGE! I told dudes Akai would come with decent effects. I like the effects on it and you don't see me complaining about them. It gets better, say you layered 4 sounds to make one new sound but you wanna add a 5th sound to it, the Live has a function called "Flattened Pad" so what you layered will all be on one pad then you can layer the 5th sound under that. Oh and you can layer four sounds to make a new sound. I use them a lot cause l sound design drums. On each sound/pad you can layer 4 effects simultaneously! Say you have a snare on pad one you can assign on that pad/sound:Īnd the effects are decent. So you can either have a chop with start and end and the next chop will have his own start and end or you can link them and the end point of chop 1 is the start of chop 2.Īnd about the individual chops having individual pitch/fx on them, you can assign chops to pads and add fx to the pad of your choice i dont know if that was what you were asking thoĬorrect me! Dont wanna spit false facts haha YO as far as i know from my friends Live (correct me if im wrong Live users!) theres a button in the sample edit screen that deactivates or activates that the end point of one chop serves as the starting point of the next.
